We have some wonderful news to share!

On 12/11/24 the Town Board of the Town of Cicero unanimously voted to award the Cicero Historical Society $30,000 of ARPA funding for historical services to be rendered in 2025. We will be using this money towards the first phase of our roof replacement project!

This means that come Spring 2025 we will be able to replace the failed roof on our original one room schoolhouse. Any additional funding we have or will receive, such as that generously donated by our community or funding from grants, will be put towards repairs needed to the interior of the schoolhouse and to replace a collection of items that were lost or damaged.

We would like to thank the Town of Cicero Supervisor, the members of the Town Board and everyone who has donated to our campaign. I would like to thank our dedicated volunteers especially – this has been a challenging year and they have gone above and beyond in their efforts. Thank you everyone!

While this is the final push we needed for phase 1 of the roof project, it is by no means the end of the story. We have big plans for 2025, starting with our first Open House on Sunday, April 13th 2025. We are excited to see everyone then!

In the meantime, the Cicero Historical Society wishes you a joyful holiday season and a prosperous new year! Thank you for your hard work, dedication and generosity.
